TOWNSHIP DESTROYED
PIKE’S HEAVY TOLL. (Received II a.m.) SYDNEY, This Day. The township of Baradine, New South Wales, has been practically destroyed by fire. There was no fire brigade in the -town, and one shop had to be pulled down in order to check the flames. At the height of the fire, a Miss Davis entered her shoe store to recover some goods, but was overcome. She was, however, rescued. The damage is estimated at about £IO,OOO.
