Mr R. Coombridge, who has been farming at Tikipunga for the past five years, has purchased a property at Poroti. Inspector Harvey, of Whangarei, held an informal discussion in Auckland with Mr W. G. Wohlmann, Com* missioncr of Police, over the weekend. Mr B. S. Rope, of Dargaville, a pupil of the Auckland Aero Club, made his first solo fight at Mangere yesterday. He was aloft for about an hour. Rotarian A.M. McLeod was given a hearty welcome at the usual weekly luncheon of the Rotary Club today on making his reappearance after a sojourn of several weeks at the hospital.
Miss Ramsey, the prominent Auckland tennis player, who is participating in the North Auckland tournament, is no .stranger to Whangarei. Her father was schoolmaster hero, and Miss Ramsey played much of her early tennis with the Whangarei Club, Mr W. Wallace, chairman of the Auckland Hospital Board, and Mr J. McCarroll, chairman of the Kaipara Hospital Board, left Auckland for Wellington last evening to attend a meeting of the executive of the Hospital Boards’ Association. Lieut. C. S. Stewart, conductor of the Third Auckland Mounted Rifles Band, was the guest of Mr Oes Wright during the Easier period. He assisted the Whangarei Boys’ Band at the Maungatapere sports yesterday. Mr Stewart is a saxophone and clarionet player of repute.
