The death has occurred at Wellington of Air W. H. Taylor, aged 74 ycairs, formerly a Government horticulturist.
The British Trade Commissioner at Wellington has received advice from London that the Board of Trade has appointed, from October, Air H. P. West, Commerce Buildings, Dunedin, to act as honorary Imperial Trade Correspondent at Dunedin. Al;‘ West is secretary of the Dunedin Chamber of Commerce.
Commissioner C. J. Tuhks and District Officer A. W. Probert’ arrived from Dargaville this afternoon to conduct the annual inspection of the Whangarei Y.AI.C.A. Division of the St. John Ambulance Brigade which was to take place at 5 p.m. . They also will attend the brigade’s dinner opening of the new hall and garage this evening.
Lord Stonehaven is proceeding to Mount Cook and will spend the weekend 'with Mr John Grigg, “ Longbeach, ” Ashburton. On Monday ho will leave for Dunedin returning north on Wednesday and spend next Thursday as the guest of Mr D. H. S. Riddiford, “Longrood, ” Feathefston. On Friday he will leave for Rotorua, spending the week-end there, and proceeding to Auckland on Monday. He will leave Auckland on October 21 tor Vancouver, en route to England.
