Mr J. G. Nelson, district accountamt in the Public Trust Office, Napier, has been transferred to Auckland. Mr C. H. Plimmer, of the Public Trust Office, Auckland, has received notice of his transfer to Christchurch. Cr. ' T. N. Blake, of Mangakahia, left for Hawera by today’s express owing to the, serious illness of his father. A. Shipman, who top scored in Leicester’s first innings against Australia, is a cousin of Mr Cyril Shipman, of Portland. Mr A, Wyness has been appointed managing director of His Master’s Voice (N.Z.) Ltd., as successor to Mr E, J. Hyams, who has left for England.
,Mr G. 0 ’Hallorap,. a member of the Waitemata. Electric Power Board, was granted, nine months’ leave of absence by the board. He intends to make 1 an extended tour abroad.
Sir Truby King left Wellington dor Sydney on the Ulimaroa and from there he will go to England. His daughter, Miss Truby King, ia travelling with him. The trip may last eight months. Mr Lawrence Glover, of Itie Christchurch branch of the. National Bank, who is to leave for England to try and enter the Royal Air Force, was presented with a travelling trunk and pipe by members of the 'staff.
