RUGBY LEAGUE BALL. PRESENTATION OF TROPHIES. WALTZING COMPETITIONS. Over .1 (JO couples assembled in the Criterion Theatre at Hiknrangi on Friday, November 8, the occasion being the League Ball. Thanks to a willing band of helpers, the floor was in wonderful dancing order, and Mr E. VV. Taylor, in the capacity of master of ceremonies, kept everything moving as smoothly as oiled wheels. The decorations, which were carried out by the ladies’ committee, wore artistically designed and delightfully novel. Starring from a canopy in the centre of the hall ami extending to the walls in eight sections, were the colours of ■aeh of the eight clubs. The colour scheme harmonised exquisitely and the whole was indeed a credit to the ladies corfcerned. Williams, of Auckland, whose decisions were received with unanimous satisfaction and unbounded applause. The ladies’ pairs competition was won by Misses D. Doel and 0. Harris, md the big competition, for which Mr A. Cadman presented the prizes, was ,on by Miss P. Dunn and her partner, Mr E. McGeachio.
