A full-dress biography of Marshal Foch has been written by General Sir George Aston, and will be published by Hutchinson. He has done it in council with General Sir John Du Cane and General Grant, who were attached to Foch f s Staff. Sir George Aston has also had the liberal use of both official and personal documents. Outstanding among these are “directives,” or orders, which Foch gave to Earl Haig, the British Commander-in-Chief.
