BENDIGO MIGRANTS
“ABOVE THE AVERAGE.”

The steamer Bendigo reached Sydney today. Captain Wyatt expressed the opinion that the migrants aboard were above the average. This is an answer to the charge made by Mr Collingwood Hughes, an ox-member of the House of Commons, whose averse criticism, of the migrants created a, stir when the ship was at Fremantle.
It is understood that Mr Hughes is proceeding to New Zealand. He is suffering from insomnia and refuses to make a statement on the recent happenings,
