Sunday. This lias been a remarkable contest, in all departments and two world’s records have been established. J. Nixon's No. 4 Black Orpington, by laying 949 full weight eggs, has created a world's record for 50 weeks, and Thomas Dowthwaite's fawn and white Indian Runner ducks have .also created a world’s record for a. fourthbird team by laying 1359 eggs in 50 weeks, an average of almost 340. The winners and runners-up in each section of the single bird contest are; Air’s L. Z. Nixon V White Leghorn, 272 eggs; runner-up, Airs R. >S. Higgbotham’s White Leghorn, 20(5. Heavy breeds, fowl section, winners: J. Nixon’s Black. Orpingtons, 1 132 eggs: funnev-iip, A. Woods’ Black Langshans, 107- eggs. Light brecls, fowl section: winners; Mrs O. Olsen’s White Leghorns, I OSS eggs; runer-up, Alfred Stewart’s No. I team, White Leghorns,, 1070. Duck Section winners: Thomas Dowthwaite.’.s Indian Runner Ducks, 1359 eggs; runner-up, G. Leech’s Khaki Campbell and A. Woods.’ white Indian Runner ducks, equal, with 1282 eggs each team. Mr Leech’s team arrived a week late fom Australia, which handicapped them. Each duck in these three teams laid 300 eggs and over. The winners of the whole series of contests are: Thomas Dowthwaite’s fawn and white Indian Runner ducks and runner-up—Leech’s Khaki Campbells and ’Woods’ white Indian'Runner ducks, equal. The best individual score is Thomas Dowthwaite’s No. 4 | cluck, 346“; runner-up, J. Nixon’s No. 4 Black Orpington, 343. Twenty-three birds (including three fowls) laid 300 eggs or over.
