Cosgrave's slender, majority in the Dail Eireann and important issues at stake, the fate of the Irish Free State Government is considered to depend on the ■ result of the North Dublin by-election, which is expected to be known this evening. • '

The candidates are the Government nominee, Dr, Thomas O'Higgins, brother i of the murdered Mr Kevin O'Higgins, and the representative of the Fianna-’ Fail, Mr Oscar Traynor, who supported the Communist leader, Mr .Tames Larkin.; ' / The Government has issued an extraflf from a document found in the possession of one of the men arrested in the, recent raid, which states: UWe must devote *all our energies to- destroying ministers and their property. We must train members to use firearms, bombs and mines, and to blow up theatres and cinemas." .The police during the past week have made 150 detentions, in the hope of securing the ringleaders.
