BRITISH COLUMBIA TIMBER
TALK OF AUSTRALIAN OFFICE. (Australian Press Association.) (Received 2 p.ih.) OTTAWA, March 12. A message from Victoria (British Columbia) states that tho Department of Lands may open a timber office in Australia and close that in Toronto.
Mr F, P. Curden, Minister of Lands, stated in reply. to the Opposition Leader, Mr Pattullo, that he doubted if the closing of the Toronto office would meet with the approval of the timber interests. He had discussed the matter with prominent men in the industry, who stated that they doubted if tho province was obtaining valui tor the money spent in Toronto. No definite plans had (been made about an Australian office, but there was a possibility of it being - established.
