PREPARATIONS FOR AUCKLAND MEETING. NOTES FROM ELLERSLIE. (Special to “Northern Advocate.”) AUCKLAND, This Day. Visiting horses arrived by special train at noon carrying nearly sixty racers and trotters. The Ellerslie tracks were dead after

overnight rain. On the two-year-old track, Gold Tinge beat Desert Song in the .only gallop, four furlongs, in Slsec. On No. 2 grass, the first to work] were Gold Money, King Emerald and Eager Rose, wdiich got to the end of five furlongs in 52sec. Gold Money finished best.

Lomint ran home from the six furlongs post in 1.22 and did it nicely. Royal Flower and Critique were on terms at the end of six furlongs in 1.21 2-5.

Corinax ran right away from Thursby while running a round in 1.47 3-5, the last six 1.19 4-5.

Perception was sent over a circuit, but was not going fast at any time, Liking 58 2-5 to run the last four. Hoylake jumped off at the six furlong post, and, after running the first throe furlongs in 3!) 2-5, completed the task in 1.21, never being extended. Sir Russell did strong work over a round, •which was covered in 1.54 4-5.1

Two stable companions, Talisker and Vertigern, strode over a circuit in 1.57.

Areheno ran the last six furlongs of her work in 1.28.

Sir Mond, Jolie Money and Zane Grey were bunched at the end of six furlongs in 1.22. Sleepy Sol and Golden Wedding were not extended over a similar "journey in 1.25 1-5.

Winsome Boy was going bettor than Tea Money at the conclusion of six furlongs, in 1,19 4-5. Hyde Park and Modest Boy got through a six furlongs task in 1.24 1-5. Lady’s Boy was too good for Night Town over a similar journey, and registered 1.33. Taneriri. .ran the same distance in 1.19 3-5. After breakfast Aussie, who wa* and earned a light boy, jump' ed off a.t the Jive furlong post, and, after .running the first two furlongs in 25see, completed the full distance in 1.2, This was a, good gallop. Bannock and Yacpii. finished together over six (furlongs in 1.21.

Papatn made a round, which he 'traversed in 1.49 1-5, the last six furlongs being run in 1.22 1-5. El ago easily accounted for Karamu while running a circuit in 1.52 2 : 5,

Awarere put plenty of dash into a five furlongs gallop in 1.4 3-5. Bizan'o was slightly in front of Abbot's Delight and -Mangaiti in a round run in 1.51 4-5.

Clockwork ran the last 'six furlongs of his work in 1.28 1-5.

Good Boy was better than Mon Star at the end of five furlongs, which took 1.7 2-5.

iS.ilvermine and Bright Glow arrived, and exercised on the sand. The former was particularly pleasing.
