WHALING LAUNCH BURNT
CREW SAVED. VALUABLE CRAFT GONE. (Per Press Association —Copyright.) BLENHEIM, This Day. The whaling launch, Miss Liberty, owned by J. A. Peraino and whaling party of Tory Channel, took lire while chasing a whale in Cook Strait on Saturday. A tow-line was attached to the vessel and she was brought into the channel, but the tow-line was burnt through. The launch was eomplerrl v desi i-oy.-d and the crew wero all saved. The Miss Liberty was one of the fastest crafts in New Zealand waters.
