MARITAL ROMANCE
ACTRESS AND AMERICAN.
(Australian Press Assn.—United Service.) (Received 3 p.m.) LONDON, July 1. The “Daily Express” says the wellknown actress, Miss 'Madge Titheradge, lias been seeretly married to Mr Edgar Park, an American manufacturer.
The Ti thera do-os are a well-known theatrical family. George Titheradgo (1849-1910) liar! four children, Dion, who is well-known in New Zealand (■born in Melbourne)' Eve, Prances and Madge, who are all on the stage. Miss Madge Titheradge married the actor, Mr Charles Quartcnnaine, but the marriage was dissolved in 1919. She was born in 1887 in Melbourne, and made her first appearance as the Second Water Baby, in “The Water Babies, ’’ at the Garrick Theatre, London, in 1902, She later played in “Trilby” (1903 J ami other plays, and was with the famous French aictor, M, Ooque'lind, in 1908, at His Majesty’s. In 1912 she first played in America and in 191 '1 toured with Die late Sir Le.wls Waller in the Dominions. She later appeared as “Peter Pay” at the Duke of York’s Theatre. Her more recent appearances were at the Queen’s, London, in “Bluebeard’s Eighth Wife,” which ran for over J 4 months in 1922-23, and at the Playhouse and Wyndham’s Theatre.
