A Whangarei man recently returned from Hamilton asked when we were going to have “Hamilton Husbands” shown here.
Peon by an “Advocate” representative, the manager of the Whangarei Pictures Stated that arrangements were in progress for taking a similar picture of Whangarei and district entitled “Winifred of Whangarei,” for which a bright comedy story with a ..pleasing love interest had been specially written. Mr Then. Trezise has been good enough to look over the story and make some very valuable suggestions regarding the cast. The story has no relation to that used in Hamilton, being one especially obtained for Whangarei by Mr Rudall Hayward, who produced “Hamilton Husbands” and is arranging to spend a -week in Whangarei for the purpose of the local production.
The story includes the chief scenes of interest in the town, public buildings, main streets, parks and generel beauty spots, etc. One portion of the story includes the turning out of the Fire Brigade, which it is hoped to arrange with the authorities.
