A message from Christchurch states that the Rev. J. K. Archer will definitely contest the Christeh nrch North seat as a Labour candidate.
The Rev. Pielden Taylor, a wellknown Anglican missioner, who is a. cripple ami uses crutches, fell at his house today and broke a thigh. He was sent to hospital, states a message from Wellington.
"A. recent arrival in this district is Mr John, McCormack, who has purchased a farm in the Whakapara district. Mr , McCormack was born in South Africa, where be lived until a few months ago. He has brought his two motherless boys with him, and his daughter, who is at college, will follow,at the end of the year. Mr J. 'Me Ennis, District Engineer of the Public Works Department, was unable to meet members of the Whangarei County Council to discuss estimates HdiJay; owing to firs being called to Ruawai, - where his nephew. Mr R. J. Baff, sou of the engineer of the Otama.tea County Council, was seriously injured this morning while engaged in lifting metal with a grab.
