SERIOUS CHARGE,
AUCKLAND, This Day. The most serious case at the present Supreme Court session is proceeding. Lawrence MacKenzie, aged 41, pleaded not guilty of attempting to murder his wife, Honor Clarke MacKenzie, at Parnell on December 30; also to minor charges of assault, causing actual bodily harm and of common assault. —Press Assn.
SOUTHERN SESSION,
TOO MANY SEXUAL CASES.
CHRISTCHURCH, This Day.
The criminal sessions of the Supreme Court opened today. There are fourteen persons for trial. His Honor, Mr Justice Adams, said the most regrettable thing was the undue preponderance of sexual cases. There were ten charges of this nature.—-Press Assn.
