SHEEP DOG TRIALS
BAY OF ISLANDS MEETING.
The annual trials of the Bay of Islands Sheep Dog Trial Club took place at the Remuera Estate on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday of this week, under most unfavourable weather conditions. The course was a very severe one indeed, and the working of the dogs, on the whole, was disappointing. The best run of the meeting was undoubtedly put up by Mr C. Jones’ Spec. The mist on the hill was so dense that in the Short Head Driving and Yarding event it was decided that all competing dogs who brought their sheep into sight be awarded the same points. The judging really started from that stage. The points gained by the various dogs were as follows: — LONG HEAD. Maximum Points —Head 17, Pull 17, Ring 4, Command 12; Total 50. J.
