Somerset in their first innings made 119. Wright took four wickets for 24 and ’ Hardinge three for five. The match was abandoned through rain. Surrey in their first innings against Essex scored 306 (Ducat 121). This • match was also abandoned.
| Bowling for Sussex against Worcester Bowley took four wickets for 11. For Worcester Bowles in the first innings took five wickets for 56 and in the second four for 26. Worcester won. For Gloucester against Glamorgan Parker took six wickets for 55. For Glamorgan Ryan in the first innings took seven for 40 and in the second five for 50. Glamorgan won. For Hampshire against Northants Boyes took four wickets for 6 and Newman six for 42. Hampshire won. Rain generally interfered with play. Some matches were not commenced.
