The death is announced, in a Sydn \v cable communication today, of the Rev. Harold Whccn, a prominent Methodist, at the age of 58 years.
Mr. W. U. Timcwell, who is a patient in the Hamilton Hospital, is to be operated upon for appendicitis tomorrow morning.
It is reported that Mr R. M. Campbell has been appointed private secretary to the Right Hon. J. G. Coates, Prime Minister of New Zealand. Mr. Campbell was educated at the Whangaroi High School and though only 20 years of age is a fully qualified barrister and solicitor, and has passed the degrees of M.A. and LL.B. Ho is a brother of Mr Neil Campbell, who lost his sight during the war, and wlio was also educated at the Whangarei High School. Mrs W. Bell, of Kauri, is a sister.
