DENGUE FEVER
RAGING EPIDEMIC,
(Received 12.40 p.m.) SYDNEY, This Day.
An epidemic of dengue fever is raging in Newcastle. To date several hundred cases have been reported. The Government Medical Officer, in a circular, says that as far as is known the disease is spread by the bite of the mosquito, which carries the germ from person to person. Municipal councils are asked to co-operate to prevent the spread of the disease. The fever is also raging in many parts of Queens-land.—-A. and N.Z. j ~, , f I
