THE SOW AT FARROWING TIME
Every pig-breeder should know that a sow costive at farrowing time is likely to make trouble of various kinds. Almost so much at that time that they are ready tb eat almost anything that is eatable that happens to be in reach. A pound of linseed meal a day with her other, food ffir a month or so before farrowing will obviate this difficulty. If one cannot get this meal or whole linseed to boil into a jelly to feed her, he can at least feed wheat bran enough to accomplish this purpose. - Also give her salt and ashes. A good way to administer medicine to a pig is to cut a hole in the toe of an old boot, insert the toe part- in the mouth and pour the medicine in at the top.
