Mr. Hartley Higgot, who is -to appear at the local picture theatres tomorrow and Saturday, was for many years a member of the Aloha Orchestra in Auckland. The steel guitar he uses is a beautiful ivory-mounted instrument, over 30 years old, and its mellow tone Mr. Higgott ascribes to its age and faithful workmanship, such as is rarely seen nowadays. Mr. Higgott may possibly settle in Whangarei and teach this melodious, though little heard, instrument. 459
