MANNIX ANTAGONISM.

LONDON, August 13,
Archbishop Mannix, in. acknowledging the freedom of WaterforZT, said ho did not believe that the Irish Republicans could at present achieve success by force. He was as much opposed to the Irish Treaty as ever and looked forward to the day when the country would be united in opposition to those who were trying to drag it deeper into the heart of the British Empire.—A. and N.Z.
