Fire on Saturday morning totally destroyed a large dwelling and outbuilding' on the Horehore estate, owned and occupied by Messrs Dowding and Hansen. The building, which was originally the homestead of Mr Maurice Harding, a pioneer settler in the district, was a well-known landmark. The dwelling, citbuildings and contents were insured with the State Fire and New Zealand .offices, but .the atr.ount is not available. —Press Assn.
