QUESTION FOR BOARD,
That the Department of Agriculture be requested to devise a scheme for the elimination of scrub bulls along the lines of the South Australian scheme was the text of a remit moved t>y Mr. N". Inder at the annual conference of the Royal Agricultural Society. The speaker pointed out that the South Australian scheme provided that the Department advanced 50 per cent, of the cost of purchasing certificated; bulls, the farmer repaying the balance in instalments. The Department laid it down that such bulls must serve a certain number of cows, and if the owner had not sufficient cows "lie was compelled to place the services of tha bull at the disposal of his neighbours at a fee. Mr. H. R. Green (Kairanga) seconded the motion. On the suggestion of Mr. J. E. Hewitt it was decided to refer the matter to the Board of Agriculture.
