About 3000 spectators attended "the match between the returned New Zealand Rugby team and a combined Wellington, Manawatu and Horowhenua team,' which ' contained Svenson, Nicholls iind Porter. The weather was bitter with a cold southerly and driving Showers which put really good football out of- the question. Under the conditions the play was as good as could be expected. The combined side, playing with the wind, did all the scoring in the first half, which' ended 11 —6J. but with the wind the smashing rushes of the heavy New Zealand forwards told a different tale. Notwithstanding /ill . the .efforts of - the: combined representatives they pilefl on score score' and ended up easy,winners- by. 2;5 —-11, -A . , For the returned men Finlays'on (.2)., DoiiaiU, Black, Wright, RightOn and Waiter scored tries, but only two wers converted. For' the losers Brophy scored two tries and Nicholls kicked a penalty goal.—Press Assii.
