STOLEN FROM SLOT MACHINES. WELLINGTON, This Day. John" Muir appeared at Court charged with stealing 12,000-. pennies from slot telephones. The evidence of detectives was that accused was, seen loitering: about the telephone, booths at the.. post office. It had been suspected that tampering wtis going on, as the records showed jfhat the receipts had diminished. A watch was kept, on Muir and when he was. arrested he admitted otabining £50 by manipulating machines. • Muir pleaded guilty and was committed for sentence. —Press Assn.
