At a meeting of the executive of the "New Zealand Rugby Union exception was taken to some statements published in the rule book issued by the Beferees' Association on the ground that the referees acted as if they were the controlling body of the game. It Txr&a decided to call their attention to thd matter. It was reported to the meeting that New South Wales wanted to send 29 men with a manager and a mssseur instead of 26. It was considered that the latter were quite enough to play 10 matches and the increase was £e..ftrted. "Che New South. Wales Union also protested against playing a teßt at the end of the tour, pointing out that New Zealand had taken the stVme line in England.
