LAUNCH RUN DOWN
TWO OCCUPANTS RESCUED. AUCKLAND, This Day. The Union Company's steamer Wainui collided with and sank the steam launch • Miss Eileen off Rangitoto Beacon after leaving for Gisborne last night. Two men on the launch, Albert Lawrence O'Brien and Raymond Little, jumped into the water. They were picked up by the Wainui's boats and brought back to Auckland by the Wainui, apparently little worse for their immersion. The launch was- owned by O'Brien and his brother and was valued at about £1200.—Press Assn.
