SPLENDID NAVIGATION.

PLANE MOORED TO ICEBERG. LONDON, June, 20 Relating how the start was made homewards, the Polar airmen said a course was laid to Verlegenhook, and when the north coast of Spitbergen same in sight it was evident RiiserLarsen's piloting and Deitriehsen's navigating had both been, perfect. Owing to the strong wind a course was laid towards the North Cape. As the stabilisation rudders had become immovable, making it impossible to stabilise the plane RiiscrLarsen determined to descend on the sea about forty kilometres north of North Cape. After skimming the water for an hour the plane was moored to an iceberg in Fugle Bay. Amundsen during the flight sat next to Riiser-Laresn, Allsworth next to Omdal, and Lecht on the petrol tank. —■ A. and N.Z.
