PACT CONFERENCE
"SOONER THE BETTER" BLATANT PKESS OUTCRY. MODIFYING ELEMENTS. (Received .10.30 a.m.) LONDON, June PA. The ''Times' " Berlin correspondent says: "The German Press goes to extremes in commenting on the French Note, which will be answered by a request for further information in regard to matters which are described as conflicting with the League of Nations' Covenant. While Fascist and extreme Nationalist organs "blatantly call fcr unhesitating abandonment of the Pact proposals the Centre and Leftist newspapers jrst as vigorously urge the Government to proceed with the negotiations. "Their attitude may be summed up in the r'ngle sentence: 'The sooner there is a conference the better.'
"As far as the Nationalist Party is concerned, it is belieVed that it will be opposed to any negotiations until Cologne is vacated and disarmament is finally settled."—Times.
