SOCIAL EVENING. A pleasant dance eventuated last Friday in the local "hall, the attendance being good, as also were the dance music and floor. Miss Williams favoured the company with a vocal solo and kindly responded to an encore. Mr. E. Morgan officiated as M.C. in a pleasing manner and Mrs. Beech presided at the piano. PERSONAL. Mrs. W. R. .T. Moody, of Wharigarex, spent last -frock in our midst .with her daughter, Mrs, W. Berdling. Mrs. E. Tremaine is at present undergoing treatment at the Mater Miserccordia Hospital. Auckland, prior to an anticipated operation for goitre, :ainp favourable reports arte to hand. i : Mr. IT. Day sis contemplating.'acquiring farm property in .the near 1 future. , . CERTIFICATE OF MERIT. A local resident was fortunate enough to earn the shield for most points in farm, garden, and dairy produce at the 11)24 Winter Show and had the misfortune to lose it at the 1925 show, despite having increased the number of points gained by over 50 per cent. , Compensation, however, is to hand in | the shape of a truly Appreciated cer- . tifieate of merit, which for effect reflects much credit on the printers.
