(Received 9.30 a.m.)
BERLIN, June 16.
: The "Vorwaerts" states .that the vast business which Herr Huge* Stinnes left has shrunk to microscopic dimensions and is now bearing a liability of £10,000,000. Though the banks intervened to prevent a collapse the shares fell 11 per cent, last ;week.
The" position in the Ruhr is calamitous. Every day pits are closing ancf blast furnaces being banked. Coal is' accumulating at the pit heads at an alarming rate, making a national crisis certain in the mining industry shortly.—A. and N.Z.
