The death is announced of Mr Patrick Butler, at one time a wellknown trainer of racehorses, including The Agent, Manton and Liberator. He was the owner of Manton when in 1888 the latter won the New Zealand Cup, the Derby and the Canterbury Cup.—Press Assn.
