German gymnasts assembled at Munich were greeted by Ludondorff with a wild spee^M^itiiiig f #ar, ih which he said: "Germany demands froifi its youth buming.love of its own country in a war of retenge against the enemy. Gymnastics are only a means to an end. Strengthen your fists and your spirits. It is spirit which raises the fist and enables it to fall upon the head of the 1-ntherland's enemies." —A. and N.Z."
