A SUCESSFUL DAY.

OT RECORDS CREATED.

The Northern Wairoa Agricultural and Pastoral Association's 'thirteenth annual show took place at Arnpohue on Friday and Saturday. The weather was most favourable, and there was a record attendance on People's Day, the gate takings, £7."3 2s .'hi, exceeding last -.year's by more than £10. The show i-; evidently growing in popularity. a::d those present on Saturday speak highly of the wfiv it was carried out. Ore::! praise is due to the president (Mr W. Simpkin), the vice-presidents (Messrs W. Montgomery and W. J. Curnow), the indefatigable secretary (Mr 0. Mcln;: Hendry), the asistant .secretary (Mr P. 15. Keith), and the stewards and permittee for the way they worked towards the great success of the gathering and they arc all to be heartily congratulated. The Hon. J. G. Coates was among the visitors during the day. The chief atrmction in the afternoon was the maypole dance and the huge crowd on the ground all gathered around the maypoles when this compet;•tion took place, the other events being forgotten for the time being. Two teams competed and the judge (Mrs W. J. Robertson, of Dargavillc) gave the 'Aratapu girls first place with 27 points, 'To Kopuru 24 points. The prize list is as follows: —.
