The Federal Cabinet unanimously supported Mr Hughes' proposed industrial conference, for which invitations have been issued. The conference probably will be held about February 14.

It i s understood that if it proves successful Mr Hughes intends to bring into operation the powers the Commonwealth possesses under the Industrial Peace Act providing for the estab'ishmfjnt of a council of industrial representatives whose powers will be similar to those of the Whitley Councils in England.—A. and N.Z.
