BATHING TRAGEDY.
DEATH IN SHALLOW WATER. HAWERA, This Day. A man named Joseph Thomson died at the Opunake beach yesterday while bathing. His body was brought ashore by two ladies, who found it in about three feet of water. Efforts to restore animation proved unsuccessful. It understood that death was due to shoclc. 'The deceased was. about GO years of age and was employed as a porter at the Opunake Hotel. It is not known whether he has any relatives living.— Press Assn.
