The Government is taking action against the leaders of the secret organisation which is spreading rapidly throughout Germany, and with which Erzberger's assassins were connected. — A. and N.Z. Monarchists at Budapesth mnde a noisy demonstration in the street on Friday, the anniversary of ex-King Karl's coronation. Monarchist deputies created a rowdy scene in Parliament and the sitting was suspended.—A. and N.Z.
A Berlin cable message of December 28 stated: A branch of the secret organisation known as the Erhadt Brigade, who work for the restoration of the monarchy, was discovered by the French at Dusseldorf. Thirty arrests were made. Captain Erhadt, living at Innsbruck, is the head of the organisation. He sends orders to a staff of personally appointed officers who flit from place to place to avoid discovery. The creation of a strong army and the laying of stores, arms and munitions are among the aims of the organisition. which holds a secret court where even death sentences arc passed, members o£ the inner circle carrying out the sentences. It is believed that the assassins of Erzbcrger belong to this band, which is estimated to comprise, 10,000 members.
