SYDNEY, This Day,
The Health authorities announce that the illness from which the Sussex Street suspect is suffering has been definitely diagnosed as plague. His condition is serious.
The patient resided at Glebe, but in the authorities' opinion became infected at his business premises in Sussex Street or the vicinity. Everything is being done to deal with the infection, which may still be present in Sussex Street.
Owing to the plflgue ease Sydney has been declared an infected port. Strict precautions arc being taken.— A. and N.Z.
