ABORTIVE COMMISSION
MR HOLLAND'S MEAT-CHARGES. (Huocial Correspondent.) WELLINGTON, This Day. During the 1920 session of Parliament Mr H. E. Holland, leader of the Labour Party, alleged that some meat had been exported from New Zealand in a ■condition unfit for human consumption. The charge related in part to gome Gisborne meat, which had been attacked by rats in the cold stores. The Government promised a commission of inquiry. Nothing was done until this year, when the commission was appointed, with Sir Thomas Mackenzie as chairman. Other delays have occurred, and now Sir Thomas has left for London without the commission having sat. The whole matter possibly will be
allowed to drop.
