MINERS' PREFERENCE
FOR VERBAL SKIRMISHING.
(Special Correspondent.)
WELLINGTON, This Day
The Miners' Federation is delaying the announcement of its intentions. The leaders indicate that they intend to take action in support of the demands rejected by the employers, arid it is known that they have been promised tho support of the Australian miners in llie event of an industrial struggle. This would mean the cutting off of Newcastle coal, but there is some ground for bolieving that the miners prefer verbal skirmishing to unemployment at the present time.
Tlie Federation loaders do not think the time is opportune for a -strike, and if they can. find a way out without damaging their prestige with the rani? and file they will take it.
