DOCjKS AND SHIPS DESTROYED,
THROUGH SIMPLE SLIP.
LONDON, Dec. 17,
Advices from New Orleans state that a workman, by dropping a hot 4 ve t into oil, caused a fire in the locks, which were destroyed, as well as the JJnited States Shipping Board steamers Sarfata, Dihyyii ai-d John Adams. Five other vessels were damaged and three men wer killed. The damage is estimated at £1,000,000.— A. and N. 2.
