What appeared to be an impossible task—what, indeed, was so considered by experts—was accomplished recdnt]y, in the removal of a huge silver birch tree from the University grounds in Dunedin to Anderson Bay where it was re-planted and appears to be doing well. The tree, whfch was. 40ft long, and weighed dose en five tons, 'had to be removed to make room for the new pihysics buildings. It was .taken out and swung on to a jinker, and hauled to Mr E. AnscoMbe's property at the Bay. This is probably one of the biggest taska of the kind successfully accomplishedl in New Zealand—certainly in Dunedin (says the "Star").
Millions of Eggs have been preserved in Sharland's "Moa" Brand Egg Preservative. It is the standard preparation in New Zealand. Try it yourself this year. .
