VESSELS HELD UP.
MORE TRIMMEST DEMANDED
AN AWKWARD DEVELOPMENT
(Received 8 a.m.)
SYDNEY, Aug. 26,
Shipping trouble is threatened owing to the seamen demanding the employment of extra trimmers on steamers. As a consequence of refusal of the demand a Commonwealth steamer is held up at Sydney and a collier at Melbourne.
Similar claims will be made as other vessels reach port, and the outlook is serious.—A. and N.Z.
