A Sydney cablegram announces the demise of the Hon. John Meagher a member of the New South Wales Legislative Council.
Mr R. W. Westoby, who was for some time in the Bank of New Zealand at Hamilton, and has since been on relieving duty in various centres, has been appointed acting-manager of the bank in Whangarei. Mr A. F. Thomson, th e manager, will be on leave for two months.
