DEMOCRATIC TUSSLE

THE WILSONIAN PLATFORM (Received 9.35 a.m.) WASHINGTON, June 21 All kinds of speculations are being indulged in concerning the Democratic Convention at San Francjsco. Delegates representing Wilsonian opinion are expected $o dominate the Convention, although Mr Bryan and Senator Read are expected to give the President's forces a stiff fight. A two-thirds majority will b e needed by the successful aspirant. Messrs Glass and Colby, before leav-1 ing Washington fov San Francisco, | had individual conferences with President Wilson, at which it is said the President gave them drafts of the platform whirh he wished the Democratic Convention to adopt. This platform is understood to take a" firm stand for the Leagu e of Nations, without nullifying relations, but it does not mention either the Irish or Prohibition questions.—A. and N.Z.
