WAIPU.
A farewell social was tendered Mr I George Wright and family ifi the Library Hall on the llth inst., when advantage was taken of the opportunity to present him with a travelling rug, and Mrs R. E. McKay, on behaltf of the ladies, presented Mro Wrght with a handbag. About ten or li 2 years ago Mr Wright, with his brother, took up property at the Cove, Waipu, where he has resided ever since. For a number of years he has been secretary of the Cove School Committee, and for the last year acted in the same capacity for 'the local branch of the Farmers' Union. Mr Wright, having sold his property, has taken up property in the Matakana district, to where he carries the best wishes of his many Waipu friends for his future welfare and prosperity. • Mr J. A. Finlayson, chairman of the Dairy Company, leaves this week for .Palmerston North to attend the annual meeting of the National Dairy Association as a delegate from the company.
