HIKURANGJ v. WHANGAREI B.
lii continuation of the tirat round of the competition Whangarei B. team met ihe Hikurangi team at Kensington yesterday. As the teams came on the field a hard game was anticipated. On the kick-off Hikurangi was seen to good advantage the ball being picked up by the luiif and going through the threequarter line for the wing, Harris, to make the opening score. .Following the drop-out the game continued with passing bouts among tho Hikurangi backs, who up to half-time had succeeded in placing _M points to their credit. The second half was practically a repetition of Ihe lirst, although at times the Whangarei boys exerted themselves, but their efforts were quickly stopped by t!ie sound tackling of the Hikurangi boys. When the whistle blew for time Hikurangi had put up the score of 58 to nil. The points were scored by the following players: —Harris 3, Kowe J, Hamilton 2, Wyatt 2, Sinitth 3, Dunn 4, Cunningham 3. G. Wyatt and Cunningham each converted a try.
