MOTHER CHARGED WITH
MURDER,
WELLINGTON, This Day.
'At the inquest concerning the death of the male child of a single woman named Margaret Ethel Levy, th e coroner found that death was due to drowning, though the evidence did not disclose whether this was accidental or otherwise.
The woman had admitted that the child moved afte r birth, and then died. She carried it in a dress basket to a gully near the Kelburn Park football grounds, where she left v it. Th e father of the child, she said, came from Westport.
Subject to the inquest Margaret Levy was arrested on a charge of murder. —Press Assn.
